Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1730-1735.

Walnut tall-case clock. The hood has a molded cornice with carved blind fretwork in the tympanum, rectangular sidelights, turned three-quarter columns at the front corners, turned quarter columns at the rear corners, and a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with cove molding at the top, and a rectangular case door with a molded edge and a circular glazed peephole. Base with cove and ovolo molding at the top, molding at the bottom and supported on straight bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals and applied cast ornament in the spandrels. Inside the chapter ring there is an applied seconds dial, a calendar aperture and an applied name plaque engraved "T S A." The chapter ring is engraved "John Wood Philadelphia". There is engraved fleur-de-lis between the hour gradations. Eight day movement.
